After being off the radar for over a year, there are a few new things to tell you about!
Firstly, John Morgan and Kevin Shiu will be DJ'ing at the Live at Squamish Festival, along side DJ's Tom Middleton and Dirty Vegas. Should be a great show and festival atmosphere!
Secondly, music! Yes Music. That's why we're here isn't it. In the downloads section we'll be releasing the entire Powerplant Music back catalogue to you for free. YES FREE! Why the hell not. It's hard enough to make money on music these days, so we figure you should just have our music, and kindly tell people about it. Spread the word, that's all we ask.

Several releases coming your way soon. First up is a re-issue of Powerplant's classic - "With or Without You" - the original mix as featured on the Bedrock mix cd by John Creamer and Stephane K. Now availble for the first time on Beatport, be sure to pick this one up, as the vocal by Serena Whitters of Bitstream Dream is amazing!
Shortly following comes our 15th release, and the second track by Astral Tiger - "Joyy!". A deeply musical tune that contiunes to build and build, layering interesting motifs ontop of one another - a great end of evening track with lasting melodies. The remix by John Morgan is a straight up house effort that keeps things light, electro and chunky, a great early evening tune to get people moving.
Powerplant's 16th release will be a re-issue of the classic Medway and Morgan - "Toobin", with remixes by none other than Medway himself, and St. Petersburg's AN-2 (from Danny Howells GU fame). This is a huge release for us and let me tell you, it won't dissapoint! Check out the sample clips on our releases page.

We are proud to have the first solo EP by Hassan Rassmy now out on Beatport, and it's sure to impress with it's deep smooth sounds. Similar to the type of stuff you've all heard with Powerplant's "Overcast", or maybe Bart Van Wissen's earlier material. Awesome music for those deeper moments that take you somewhere, and great for the label to get back to this direction. I'm sure will hear lots more from Hassan in the near future!

Next up is the return of label boss John Morgan with Kevin Shiu and thier new track 8 Feet Under . A fresh blend of techno and twisted synths, this track is ripe for some serious dance-floor action, with a bassline that could almost bring Twilo back from the dead. AFK delivers a Morodor'esque remix that amps things up a notch for the harder floors. Release date is set for June 12th exculsively on Beatport.
In the pipe for PPM-013 we have a solo EP by Hassan Rasmy, with some super deep and smooth sounds that are sure to impress - look for this release 3rd week of June on Beatport!

Powerplant has been quiet for the last few months, letting things brew in the studio for a bit while we re-group. Look out for the next release - PPM011 - Astral Tiger "Miami Nice", a stellar electro-tinged melodic rocker with a superb remix by Jody Wisternoff (Way Out West) - what could be better to kick off our 2008 release schedule. This one should be getting lots of play in Miami, already canned by several top names.

Kristian Littmann's Debut 12", "Acid Rephlux" hit the stores Oct 25th and has been doing very well - recently hitting #12 on the Balance Record Pool Charts and selling out in 2 days on Juno Records. Look for it the track in fine record shops near you or wait for the digital download Nov 25th exclusively on Beatport.
November also sees the release of the long awaited "O.I.L.Y." by Powerplant's behind the scenes guy Kiki Stewardson. A deep track with amazing production creates a late evening soundscape not to be missed. This track can be found exculsively on Beatport on Nov 15th.
The Powerplant Music Show on Frisky Radio is going strong and airs the 1st Monday of every Month, so check this out for some cutting edge dj mixes from the Focus crew and friends!

John Morgan's "Hang to Dry" EP featuring 3 new original tracks is now up on Beatport, along with a re-release of the legendary "Overcast" by Powerplant, which also includes the unreleased tech-house dub mix.
The vinyl release has been delayed slightly, but next up on Powerplant is Kristian Littmann's debut release "Acid Rephlux" including a remix by Kriece. This will be released in September through the Pure Music Group, Powerplant's new vinyl distributer
The Focus night at the Lotus on Fridays has finally come to and end after Five years. Much thanks to all the DJ's who played there with Kevin Shiu, Kristian, Andrew Pacey and Myself. This will also bring to an end the Focus show on Frisky Radio - 3 fun years of radio and over 30 shows hit the airwaves monthly on Frisky during this time. Although it's not all bad - the Focus show will be replaced by the Powerplant Music Show - yes our own show, which will feature live DJ mixes and special mix CD debuts from local Vancouver DJ's and Powerplant Music friends.
Keep a lookout for the long awaited release of Kiki Stewardson's solo EP. Some great deep prog he's been tweaking over the last while that has loads of substance, musicality, and atmosphere.

John Morgan's - Octaves is off to the presses and will be released by Amato on June 18th. Look for it a local record shops and online at Juno Records shortly afterwards. Early feedback is very positive and thanks to Hernan Cattaneo for charting the track in his top 20.
Look for John Morgan, Kevin Shiu and Andrew Pacey playing the B-Live Tent at Virgin Fest this May Long weekend alongside Hernan, Desyn Masiello, Luke Fair, MSTKRFT, and Tommie Sunshine.

Focus has now moved to Fridays in Vancouver at the Gecko Club - 518 Richards St. A new bigger venue and the same sound and vibe that has kept Vancouver's Friday nights rocking for over 4 years now. As well, Focus will be running one of the Main Stages at this year's Summer Break Music Festival Aug 19th in the mountains outside of Vancouver. Kevin Shiu, John and Kristian will be playing alongside Paranoid Jack and Jody Wisternoff from Way Out West.

John and Kevin Shiu return again shortly with the 'Mic Check' EP (ppm004). Check-1 has been charted by Hernan Cattaneo and remixing has been completed by Shmuel Flash and Huge-A, so look out for this release shortly.

Acid Brownies has finally been sent off to the presses, after a delay for us caused by the recent dismantling of the Release Record Label group. We've secured new distribution and will be getting back to a full release schedule over the next few months.
Once again tune into Frisky Radio for the next installment of Focus - October 6th will showcase a superb 3 hour set by Chris Fortier as he rocked out our club night Focus here at the Lotus in Vancouver last month.

The monthly Focus show on Frisky Radio has become a huge success with over 700 listeners on the 1st Monday of each month. Look out for Kevin Shiu's next 5 hour journey to be recorded at the Lotus on May 6th, and re-broadcast on Frisky June 6th. John Morgan will be recording his 5 hour show in July for broadcast sometime this April.
Kristian Littmann will be releasing his latest and long-anticipated mix cd, Deeper Shades of Focus, at the Lotus Friday May 20th - a night not to be missed, and a CD not to be missed!

John recently returned from Miami WMC taking in some really good shows and as well playing the Frisky Radio 'Get Frisky' party at Shine.
Here we are in 2006 - almost a year since Powerplant Music's been rocking the decks of DJ's around the globe, and we're looking forward to keeping things going strong with our 3rd Release - John Morgan and Kevin Shiu - Acid Brownies to be released Jan 20th.

The full release of Powerplant "Let You Go" is now out and in shops worldwide. Next up on the burner is Medway & Morgan "Toobin'", featuring a smooth and simmering remix by Rob Curtis - this should be out on promo early March. I'll be posting some audio clips soon of our 3rd release, "Acid Brownies" by Morgan and Shiu, which will be getting the remix treatment by local men of the moment - Shiloh.
